Christine Smith, director of nursing at The Gardens Court in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, was named Director of Nursing of the Year for Life Care Centers of America’s Southeast Division on April 20, 2015.
The award was given during Life Care’s annual Directors of Nursing Meeting held at the company’s headquarters in Cleveland, Tennessee. It is given to the director of nursing in each of Life Care’s divisions who best demonstrates outstanding qualities in several areas, including customer service ratings, staff development and successful state surveys.
“Christine is an educator at heart, and her passion is to educate others to strive for perfection and succeed in their jobs, which in turn ensures success for her facility,” said Mark Nelson, interim executive director. “I feel honored to work alongside her, as her knowledge and leadership allow the staff and residents to be reassured that someone is watching out for them as they either work or reside in the facility.”
Beecher Hunter, Life Care president, added, “Christine is a living example of what the honorable nursing profession is all about. She administers her God-given talents in a spirit of love and compassion to help make the lives of others better. We’re proud of her and all of our nursing award winners.”
Life Care honored seven other divisional winners and a Company-wide Director of Nursing of the Year, as well as a customer service winner.
